African village
The " Village" consists of a Royal Palace, Village huts, a Market place, and features colorful and interactive activities for both young and old, like story telling, drumming, dancing, face painting, mask making, etc.
With increasing school drop out rate, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse, and alarming crime levels; parents cannot help but nurse some degree of anxiety and fear when they contemplate the future of their children.
Today’s youth must be armed with the tools and skills to face the hard realities of our society. Our Rites of Passage program offers a set of tools that has been proven to work with young people, irrespective of class, race or family background.
Through interactive and non confrontational workshops, roundtable discussions, team building activities, book assignments, community service projects and mentoring; participants learn to work in teams, enhance their communication skills and creativity; affirm their sense of identity, self esteem, love, respect, and a good grounding in society.
The program is built on a set of eight principles borrowed from traditional African rites of passage ceremonies, namely: love, respect, honor, strength, wisdom, courage, patience and pride.
